September is Suicide Prevention Month.
Suicide can touch anyone, at any age. Early warning signs include feeling empty or hopeless, experiencing unbearable emotion, or expressing great guilt or shame—sometimes feeling strongly as if you are a burden to others.
Behavior changes may look like increased risk-taking, withdrawing from others, giving away important items, or making end-of-life plans such as a will or goodbye letters.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, call 9-8-8, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7/365 or call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
At InterFaith Health Center, we provide mental health therapy focused on implementing coping strategies, reducing symptoms, and setting goals for the future. You are not alone.
