Baby gate recall!

🚨Mom Genius Recalls Retractable Safety Gates Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Entrapment 🚨

The recalled gates violate the mandatory standard for expansion gates and expandable enclosures because a child’s torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment.

The gates were sold on Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Purchasingpower.com and Perpay.com from March 2024 through June 2025 for between $50 and $75.

Immediately stop using and contact Mom Genius for a full refund. Consumers must destroy the gate by cutting through the mesh and send a photo of the destroyed gate to product-recall@momgenius.com.

💙 Baby Blues vs PPD vs PPA: Know the Difference 💙

Not every mood change after birth is the same:

🔹 Baby Blues: Mild mood swings, tears, irritability; usually resolves within 2 weeks.
🔹 Postpartum Depression (PPD): Persistent sadness, hopelessness, low energy, loss of interest; can last months without treatment.
🔹 Postpartum Anxiety (PPA): Intense worry, racing thoughts, panic attacks; can interfere with daily life.

Recognizing the signs early is key to recovery. Mental Illness Awareness Week is the perfect time to learn, reach out, and support each other.

This is a tricky one, because older kids may be embarrassed to still be in a booster seat. But the safest thing is to keep them in it until they can pass the 5-step test, which is generally until they are 4’9”!
