✅ Reasons to Use Vivitrol Over Other MAT Options
1. No Risk of Abuse or Diversion
Vivitrol is not a controlled substance and has no abuse potential, unlike buprenorphine or methadone.

This makes it an excellent choice in settings concerned about medication misuse (e.g., jails, courts, sober living).

2. Once-Monthly Injection
One shot lasts 28–30 days, which can improve adherence, especially for patients who struggle with daily medication routines.

This also reduces the burden of daily decision-making and temptation.

Nikki Sixx, bassist and principal songwriter for Mötley Crüe, co-founded the band in 1981. Sixx also became a best-selling author, photographer, and advocate for recovery. His raw honesty made him one of rock’s most transparent and resilient voices.
