This is fascinating!
So the Omotransverarius originates in the fascia of the spine of other scapula and runs up and attaches to the transverse(side) processes.

It’s similar in function to it’s BFF, Brachio-C in that it helps to move the front limb forward(protract) when the neck is in a fixed position AND it flexes the neck laterally(to the side) when the front limb is in a fixed position.

How cool is that?!
