RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is very common in young children and can cause more serious symptoms in the youngest age groups.

Children can catch RSV at any age, but the highest risk for significant symptoms is in:
• Infants and toddlers under 2 years old
• Babies under 6 months, who may have more trouble breathing or feeding
• Children with asthma, chronic lung conditions, or weakened immune systems

Common RSV Symptoms in Children:
• Persistent cough
• Wheezing or noisy breathing
• Fast or labored breathing
• Fever
• Runny nose or congestion
• Decreased appetite
• Irritability or trouble sleeping
• In infants: pauses in breathing, lethargy, or difficulty feeding

Because RSV spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, shared toys, and surfaces, outbreaks in daycares and schools are common.

If your child is struggling to breathe, has a worsening cough, signs of dehydration, or severe symptoms, AFC is here to help.

Walk in any day of the week for prompt evaluation and care.

Nagging cough that just won’t quit? 🤧

This time of year, several respiratory illnesses can cause lingering symptoms, and knowing which one you’re dealing with matters.

Common illnesses we’re seeing include:
• Bronchitis – inflammation that leads to a deep, persistent cough
• Pneumonia – infection in the lungs that can cause fever, chest pain, and shortness of breath
• Whooping Cough (Pertussis) – severe coughing fits that make it hard to breathe
• RSV – especially tough on young children and older adults, often causing wheezing and heavy congestion

At AFC, we’re equipped to evaluate and treat the most stubborn coughs with on-site testing, X-rays, and treatment plans tailored to your symptoms. 🩺

We’re also here for your whole family, treating even infants 6 months and older.
Walk in any day of the week for fast, reliable care and some much-needed relief.

Cough that won’t quit? Trouble breathing? Chest discomfort you can’t explain? 😮‍💨

During sick season, these symptoms can be caused by anything from pneumonia to bronchitis, and guessing isn’t your best option. 🫁

🩻 Chest X-rays allow our providers to:
• Check for pneumonia and bronchitis
• Spot lung inflammation or fluid
• Rule out more serious conditions
• Guide the right treatment plan faster

When you’re feeling miserable, the last thing you need is an unnecessary ER visit or a long wait. AFC is open 7 days a week with on-site chest X-rays, so you can get answers quickly.

Walk in whenever you need us. No appointment needed!

Holiday Fun at AFC Knoxville 🎄
Our elf, Peppermint, is following Santa’s orders and making hydration a top priority this season. We appreciate the festive fun our elf is bringing to our clinic during the holidays.

Pushing through symptoms might seem easier than stopping for care, until it isn’t.

If NyQuil and Tylenol aren’t helping, it’s time to get clarity instead of coping.

Walk into AFC for personalized testing and treatment that helps you recover faster, not just mask symptoms.

You deserve to feel better, not just get by.
