In any serious field, standards define credibility.

Recovery housing is no different.

Certification aligns operators with nationally recognized benchmarks and ethical expectations, strengthening trust across Tennessee.

When standards rise, the entire ecosystem benefits.

Standards are not suggestions.
They are safeguards.

SNAP Restrictions Coming To Tennessee

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), previously referred to as ‘food stamps’ is a federally funded program that focuses on supplementing grocery needs for low-income workers, seniors, children and folks with disabilities. The program’s name was changed in 2008 to keep it from being disgraceful to those who need help.

The USDA has now approved states to modify what can be purchased at the grocery store when using SNAP funds. US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy is focusing on ways to reduce health problems linked to poor diets that are funded by the program.

Eighteen states will begin banning junk food SNAP purchases in 2026…Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Utah, West Virginia, Idaho, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado, Texas, Virginia, Florida, Arkansas, Hawaii, South Carolina, North Dakota, Missouri and Tennessee.

Beginning July 31, 2026, those restrictions will begin in Tennessee. The restrictions will prevent the purchase of sugary drinks/soft drinks, candy and sweetened processed foods and energy drinks with SNAP funding.
