Feeling extremely grateful and inspired after assisting and attending the "Manual Therapy for Voice and Swallowing: A Person-Centered Approach" with Walt Fritz PT this past weekend in Nashville.

This was my third time attending the course and second time assisting in teaching the seminar. While every experience has been exceptional, this was my favorite seminar yet. The evolution of understanding and presentation of this work has been significant since I first took the course eight years ago and I'm excited to bring these new insights to my practice.

Thank you, Walt for the incredible opportunity, and for trusting me to help instruct and pass on these techniques. The manual work itself is amazing, but the shared desicion-making and highly client-collaborative model is truly what sets this approach apart from most other therapy techniques. I full believe that anyone in a rehab/manual therapy/teaching/medical field, etc working with clients/patients could benefit from the approach to how we communicate and work with clients.

*Voice lessons and individual manual laryngeal therapy sessions are offered outside of a diagnosis and treatment plan for a known voice disorder. If you’re experiencing vocal difficulties and change/loss of voice that is persistent for two weeks, it may be time to visit your physician and ENT for a comprehensive voice evaluation and possible referral to voice therapy. If voice therapy is warranted, we can help you out with that, too. :)

Hello all,

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these uncertain times. At this time, Trillium Speech, Language, & Voice Services, LLC will be suspending in person sessions and lessons through at least April 1st, 2020, due to recent concerns and recommendations surrounding Covid-19. This was not an easy decision to make, but we at Trillium Speech feel it is our duty and responsibility to do our part in keeping our clients, employees, and community healthy.

We are happy to announce the we’ve already begun implementing teletherapy and voice lessons for many of our clients, with options for expanding telehealth arriving every day. TEIS clients and families, the state has approved sessions for telehealth through April 1st and we are excited to get you and your child set up for sessions as soon as possible.

Clients with medicaid and commercial insurance plans, it is still unclear at this time as to whether or not telehealth will be covered for speech therapy. I urge you to call your provider to verify benefits, and request speech therapy be added to the expansion of telehealth coverage.

If you have any questions or concerns, I’m more than happy to assist in any way I’m able. You can call (865) 214-7384, or email me at Kelli@trilliumspeech.com. Thank you for your assistance and understanding in these matters and we look forward to continuing working with you.

All the best,

-Kelli Turczyn M.S., CCC-SLP
