Danny Williams, 66, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Born August 12, 1958, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Danny is the son of the late Louis Bryson Williams and Ruby Maples Williams. He graduated from Holston High School and Tusculum University.
Danny began his career in Emergency Medical Services at age 19 where he first received his EMT. He spent most of his years in the fire and ambulance division of Rural Metro Corporation. While working full-time, he went back to school to obtain his Paramedic license. He has also been a CPR instructor with the American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
He received recognition from WBIR-TV and received the Jefferson Award from the American Institute for Public Service. At one time, Danny served on the Tusculum Alumni Board and American Red Cross Disaster Services Board. He has also been a First Responder Instructor for Roane State and taught numerous basic and advanced first-aid classes and was a long-time American Red Cross Emergency Services Volunteer.
Over the years, Danny has been very active in the community. Some of his past endeavors have included being an Assistant Scoutmaster and Den Leader for Boy Scouts, serving on mission trips for the Appalachian Service Project and Tennessee Outreach Program, coached CBFO girls’ softball and basketball and coached boys’ basketball and baseball. He also volunteered with Mission of Hope, Water Angels, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Appalachian Outreach.
Danny led many youth mission teams and retreats and enjoyed teaching high school Sunday School, Sunday Night Youth, and Vacation Bible School. He is currently a member of First Baptist Concord in Farragut where he was active in the Blalock Sunday School Class.
Danny is survived by his wife of 40 years Sonya Williams, son Chris Williams and wife Sarah and grandson Bennett of Knoxville, TN and daughter Erin Frey and husband Billy and grandchildren Charlie, Josie and Grayson of Powell, TN; sisters Lois Raines of Knoxville, TN and Ellen Chesney (Larry) of Maynardville, TN; father-in-law Carroll Tuck of Knoxville, TN and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was a wonderful husband, father, and loving grandfather known as “Pop-Pop.” Danny enjoyed camping, going to the beach and mountains, preparing meals for others, baking his wonderful three-layer cakes, and going to Farragut High School Football games and watching the University of Tennessee compete in baseball, softball, and football.
A celebration of life will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, November 7th at Click Funeral Home, Farragut Chapel with Rev. Dan Baird officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Thursday prior to the service. Interment 11 AM Friday in Eastview Memorial Gardens, 1320 Andrew Johnson Highway, Strawberry Plains, TN.

Kay was recognized today by HonorAir Knoxville for her constant support and service to our Military Veterans. She’s Volunteered for 17 years and missed the first flight this past September because she battling cancer and just couldn’t attend.

So Proud of her continued giving to our community and the many Veterans in East Tennessee.

This evening several of our crews were honored at this years 2023 CECATN Star of Life Awards in Lebanon. It was such an honor to receive awards for Region 2, 3, and 4!! Congratulations to Mattlock, Les, Tori, Eric, Bryce, and Joe!!
