Some of you don't know this, but about 13 months ago I came out of retirement to work as the Administrator of a beautiful Hospice House Facility. Yesterday received a call that there was a man who had no family that cared about him. He had a friend named Joe who was trying to find somewhere for him because he didn't want to pass at home and he didn't want to pass in a hospital. The decision was made that Sacred Ground Hospice House, where I work, is where he wanted to bring him. Because he didn't like ambulances, his friend had to pick up the 100-pound man and carry him to his truck and bring him to us and physically lift him out of his truck to our wheelchair. It was about 9:00 pm. His friend took care of the paperwork and payment and then left. The man with a friend named Joe, was finally able to rest. At midnight I got a call that he had passed peacefully. This man was so blessed to have a friend like Joe. As I climbed in bed and was reading Psalm 91, verse 11 popped out at me. It says, "He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. " Our patient's angel was named Joe. Let us never forget about the angels among us. I know, even though I never met him, I will remember this man's friend named "Joe". Thank you, God, for your Angels around us.
