The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Nursing is a nationally recognized leader in the education of highly-skilled, visionary nurses. The college enrolls more than 1000 students in undergraduate and doctoral programs. These programs attract extremely qualified students and prepare them for positions in all areas of the healthcare sector. The college's graduates consistently achieve pass rates on licensure and certification exams of 98.5 percent or higher, exceeding state and national averages. The college runs a school-based, nurse-managed clinic in Knoxville, engages in international outreach with faculty and students, and generates practice nursing research that improves health, health care and quality of life.

On Saturday, we hosted a College of Nursing breakout session during New Vol Roll Call. It was a session with 100+ attendees that were recently admitted to University of Tennessee, Knoxville. We enjoyed showing them what is all about!

Over spring break, Vol Nursing students carried the Volunteer spirit to Belize! 🩺🧡

From clinic days to cultural exploration in Belize, this week was full of meaningful service, connection, and lasting memories. Hear from senior Grace Li about what this experience meant to her:

"When I heard about the CON Belize trip, I felt called to participate in this unique study abroad opportunity. I gained so much hands on learning experience during our community clinics through assessments, diagnosing, medications, and working alongside other nursing majors. I am grateful to have had this opportunity to educate myself on nursing in a different country and learning about their culture. I’m so thankful for the new friends that I made throughout this experience and the valuable knowledge that I will carry with me in my future nursing career!"

A pitch with purpose ❤️⚾️

During American Heart Month, Jennifer L. Smith, associate clinical professor at UT Knoxville, took the mound to spotlight the importance of cardiovascular health. Smith's research program focuses on improving the cardiovascular health of informal caregivers from vulnerable populations.

Meet Senior Emma Bedsworth! 🧡

Emma is a senior in the College of Nursing, graduating Spring 2026, and has been an active member of the Precious Prints Project since Fall 2024. This year, she served as Sprint for the Prints Chair, helping manage volunteers, coordinate silent auction items, support event planning, and lead the student team in raising funds to continue creating meaningful objects of remembrance for families experiencing loss.
