The Pediatric Registered Nurse (PRN) Enhancement Program in partnership with East Tennessee Children's Hospital offers rising senior nursing students the opportunity to gain specialized experience in pediatric care while completing their undergraduate degrees.🩺 Learn more about how Vol Nurses are making the most of this unique opportunity!

🌟Megan McMillian: "My own experience as a patient at East Tennessee Children's Hospital for many years during my childhood planted the seeds in my heart for the love of helping others. Pediatric nursing has always been close to my heart, and the PRN program has deepened that passion. It’s shown me the real impact nurses have on young lives and their future. I promise to touch the hearts of young lives the same way that East Tennessee Children's Hospital did mine many years ago."

🌟Kendall Radocesky: "I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and have known that I have wanted to be a pediatric nurse since I started going to ETCH as a child. The nurses were always so nice and made the experience so much easier which made me want to do the same for someone else once I got older. The new PRN program has given me the experience to be able to pursue those dreams in multiple different areas of ETCH. I am very honored to have this experience because I will be much more prepared to be a new grad pediatric nurse."

📍: Clínica Médicos

"We’ve been so honored to be selected into the scholars program at Clínica Médicos in Chattanooga, TN for a second summer! Through this program we have learned the importance of patient-centered care, health education, and accessibility in healthcare. This clinic works to breakdown cultural barriers, primarily within the Hispanic/Latino community. As a result we get to practice Spanish, a language not native to our own, and apply what we have been learning in our clinical experience thus far. This clinic will forever have a special place in our hearts, and we have no doubt that it will influence all of our clinical practice in the future. "
