There’s nothing quite like watching a proud father and grandfather light up while showing off his favorite photos. He shared snapshots of his kids and grandkids during a one-on-one activity—each picture a little story, each smile a reminder of the love that fills his life.

You could see it in the way he talked about them… that soft pride, that quiet joy, that sense of this is my heart right here.

Sometimes the sweetest moments are the ones where someone can’t help but share the people who mean the world to them.

Family really is everything. 💜

We’re often asked whether dementia is inherited. For most people, the answer is no. The majority of dementia cases are not passed down through families, and many people diagnosed have no close relatives with the condition. However, researchers have identified a small number of genes that can increase a person’s risk. Here’s what families should know about dementia and genetics.

Concord Place Memory Care witnessed a moment that felt nothing short of historic. Our beloved Jean — 100 years young and full of grace — carried the Olympic torch through our halls to kick off the Winter Olympic opening ceremonies.

Jean has lived through 48 Olympic Games in her lifetime:
24 Summer Olympics (from Amsterdam 1928 all the way to Paris 2024) and 24 Winter Olympics. What an extraordinary span of history to hold in one heart.

Watching her lift the torch, steady and proud, reminded us all of the power of resilience, tradition, and joy. It was an honor to celebrate this milestone with her family, friends, and our community. Moments like this are why we do what we do — they bring light, connection, and a sense of wonder to everyone around.

Here’s to Jean, to the Olympics, and to the memories still being made every day at Concord Place. ❄️🔥

🚗 Drive & Thrive: A Seated Movement Class with all new music and movements!

Everyone remembers the feeling of being behind the wheel — the rhythm, the focus, the freedom.
Driving & Thrive brings that familiar joy into a gentle, seated exercise class designed especially for seniors living with memory loss.

Using simple, car‑inspired motions like steering, signaling, shifting, and “checking the mirrors,” participants engage their arms, hands, and upper body in ways that support everyday independence. These movements help maintain the strength and coordination needed for brushing teeth, combing hair, eating, and other daily tasks — all while tapping into a comforting memory that feels natural and empowering.

Set to upbeat music and guided with friendly, easy-to-follow cues, Driving & Thrive encourages steady movement, confidence, and fun. It’s not about fitness perfection — it’s about connection, familiarity, and the joy of “taking a little drive” together.

🍎✨ Warm Hearts & Hot Apple Cider ✨🍎

Today was pure comfort in a cup. Our residents gathered together to make hot apple cider using fresh‑pressed cider infused with cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, brown sugar, and bright slices of orange.

As the pot simmered, the aroma of spices drifted through the room, offering layers of sensory delight—warm, familiar, and deeply soothing. The cider warmed our hands and bodies, but the fellowship we shared warmed our souls even more.

Simple moments like these remind us how meaningful togetherness can be. ❤️
