Truth
"The Buddha’s most important teaching was on emptiness. As the great Indian sage Shantideva said, samsara is the source of all suffering because beings cling to self and phenomena as intrinsic. But samsara by nature is emptiness, and therefore there is nothing to reject, for if one rejects, one also does its opposite - grasping. Samsara is an illusion, and when one wakes up, the illusion collapses. Seeing samsara’s nature is nirvana. This experiential knowledge allows one to testify against samsara, old age, sickness and death, which have no bearing on the one who knows. The question is: do we want to be the bodhisattva who realizes this truth and remains in samsara, immune to suffering, to help others find liberation?" --From Rinpoche's teachings at Nyingma Summer Seminar in 2021. Rinpoche's first talk of the 2022 Nyingma Summer Seminar begins Friday night at 6 pm Mountain Time. For more information, visit our website.
