Special Care Incorporated Special Care is a personal support service offering personal care, homemaker & respite services. This is what makes Special Care employees “Special People”.

Our mission is to have “Special People caring for Special People” in their time of greatest need. Special Care insists on the highest ethical standards in conducting business, doing the right thing and acting with integrity. When faced with ethical issues, Special Care employees are expected to make the right professional decisions consistent with Special Care’s principles and standards. The owner of the company, Mary Calloway-Norman, began the company in 2000 when she saw the need to help the sick and the elderly in Knoxville, TN. Mary’s mother (Ruth Cordelia McMahan Calloway-Sult) was the reason for this company. Mary realized that had it not been for family, her mother would have been in an assisted living home. We provide in home assistance to the elderly, disabled, sick, homebound and their families. Our services include but are not limited to:

- Light house keeping

- Laundry

- Meal Preparation

- Medication reminders & observation

- Assistance with daily living skills

- Accompanying or transportation to run errands

Definitions of our services:

Homemaker Services:
Assistance with general household chores such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, making the bed, washing dishes, personal laundry, etc. Personal Care Services:
Assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding and other activities of daily living. Transportation to doctors appointments, shopping, and other household errands.. Respite Care:
Clients can receive care on a short-term basis when there is an absence or need for relief of the person(s) normally providing care. Other Information:

Services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We accept Home and Community Based CHOICES Program for the elderly and disabled as well as personal payments from individuals or their family. Special Care Incorporated is hiring!

We are seeking multiple home health aides and caregivers to fill a variety of cases for both first and second shift availabilities.

No experience or licensing needed! We are a non-medical company that assists clients with Activities of Daily Living such as light housekeeping, cooking, personal care, and errands and we are happy to train applicants with little or no experience.

This is a great opportunity for those seeking to enter into the nursing or medical fields, and for people with nurturing spirits.

Our starting pay range is $12.00-$14.00 per hour plus fuel assistance and we offer performance & holiday bonuses as well as paid vacations.

• Reporting changes in a client’s condition or family situations to the office;

• Contacting a supervisor regarding client/family requests that are not designated on the Plan of Care;
• Documenting services provided appropriately;
• Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments/running errands for clients;
• Providing assistance with personal care needs such as hygiene, toileting, bathing, shaving, etc.;
• Assisting with dressing & grooming;
• Assisting in ambulation;
• Encouraging self-help and/or meaningful day activities;
• Transferring clients who require minimal to moderate assistance;

• Steadying with assisting device such as a walker during transfers;
• Feeding the client;
• Using universal precautions/ensuring client safety;
