East Tennessee Children’s Hospital was one of the founding hospitals that signed on as a member when Children's Miracle Network was established in 1983.

Since then, we have been working in partnership with CMN to raise critical funds and awareness for our hospital. CMN is rebranding, but our partnership and their mission remain the same. When you see this balloon in local retailers and at local events, know that 100% of your donation is coming straight to our hospital and helps us fund life-saving equipment, programs, and services. We could not do what we do without the philanthropic support from our community, one dollar at a time.

Together, CMN partners and programs in our market, have raised over $35 MILLION for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital since the start of the partnership over four decades ago.

When you see this balloon and make a donation, you’re helping to Make Big Change, For All Kids. 💙💛

Congrats to Selena, our December 2025 DAISY Award recipient! A colleague said, "She’s always the first to step in when someone needs help, whether it’s assisting with a patient, covering for a coworker, or offering a word of encouragement during a stressful shift. She never hesitates to put others before herself, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure both her patients and others are supported."

We are proud to partner with DAISY as we have extraordinary staff at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. Join our amazing team by applying today at www.etch.com/careers.

Born three months prematurely, Hannah, Kate and Lily were rushed to East Tennessee Children's Hospital, each barely weighing two pounds and small enough to slip a ring around their tiny arms. Nearly two months later, John and Johnna were given the great news that they could take Hannah and Kate home.

To show their appreciation, Johnna decided to bring a cake to the NICU team to celebrate all three girls with a group of people that meant so much to their family. As they got older, Hannah and Kate began visiting with their parents and it has become a tradition that their family and staff look forward to each year.

This year, Hannah and Kate are celebrating their 25th birthday. Over the years, the girls have graduated from the University of Tennessee, have careers in healthcare and media and continue to succeed in anything they set their minds to, while keeping their sister, Lily, in their memory. "I am so thankful for East Tennessee Children's Hospital and everything they did for our girls," said Johnna.

Goals are very dependent on your child’s age and what makes them feel good about themselves. Read our full article on setting goals with your children at www.etch.com/goals.

“Goals create a value-based life. It verbalizes the things that are important to them and gives a child something positive to work toward,” said Dr. Emily Corwin, Medical Director of Pediatric Psychology at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

Help your child set and reach their goals by using visual representations to track their progress. In this video, we used the following items that can be found at a local supermarket or craft store:

Color printer
8.5x11 copy paper
Self-laminating sheets
Adhesive craft magnets
Toy cars

We Get Kids

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is a 152-bed hospital certified by the state of Tennessee as one of four Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center in Tennessee and is accredited by the Joint Commission. As a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center, Children's Hospital offers full capabilities to care for seriously ill children in a unique pediatric environment and offers the services of many different pediatric sub-specialties. Children's Hospital works jointly with the University of Tennessee Medical Center to ensure that injured children in this region receive trauma care at the institution most appropriate for the child's needs. We also assist smaller hospitals by providing pediatric health care training opportunities.

Since our first day in 1937, we have had an "open-door" policy that no child will be denied care because of race, religion or their parents' ability to pay their child's medical bill.

Because children are special... they deserve the best possible health care given in a positive, family-centered atmosphere of friendliness, cooperation, and support - regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. Their medical needs are closely related to their emotional and informational needs; therefore, the total child must be considered in treating any illness or injury. Their health care requires family involvement, special understanding, special equipment, and specially trained personnel who recognize that children are not miniature adults. Their health care can best be provided by a facility with a well-trained medical and hospital staff whose only interests and concerns are with the total health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.
