Care Around the Block grew out of Choices in Senior Care, which was founded in 2010 by Mary Wegman. Growing up, Mary shared a bedroom with her grandmother who was living with Dementia. As her primary caregiver, Mary discovered a strong passion to care for the aging population, which continues to this day. Mary earned her Certified Nursing Assistant license and worked her way through college, recei

ving a BS in nursing. After working as a registered nurse for over 30 years, Mary saw a need in the community for professional care management. Originally a Care Management company only, Mary founded Choices in Senior Care in 2010. In 2014, after increased difficulty finding her clients quality caregivers through other companies, Mary began offering caregiving services as well, eventually becoming Care Around the Block (CAB). Today, Mary is more passionate than ever when it comes to serving the aging population, striving to make CAB a holistic approach to aging. Mary understands that everyone's needs are different, and she continues to innovate, allowing her clients the highest level of care and the ultimate level of independence through every season of life. Mary carefully chooses team members with her same passion for the aging population!

Most falls don’t come from risky behavior. They happen during ordinary moments. Walking across a room. Turning too fast. Carrying something simple.

What really matters is how forgiving a home is when someone makes a small mistake. Research keeps pointing to the same quiet truth: improving everyday layout and reducing common hazards can significantly lower fall risk, without changing how someone lives.
