The crunch of forest leaves has gone quiet, more of a soft squish underfoot. There’s something comforting about being able to sink into the trails at this time, to feel held by the moist detritus of the season. To glide undetected like an owl. To allow awareness to pan out into the ether rather than hook onto the heaviness of each step. So too are we softening and slowing, sinking further into the shelter of darkness, the richness of rest.

One of our family’s favorite ways to synchronize with all seasons is to walk in the woods. All weather, babies, kids, puppies. Left foot, right foot. Left brain, right brain. Head, hips, heart. Roots, shoots, rocks and moss. The woods offer us such a sweet balance.

We’d like to invite you to a special event kicking off this Saturday in our back yard and in the heart of South Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness.

No, I didn’t forget my tent. 💛 I’m happily here soaking up some sun, watching the birch leaves blow down Jackson Avenue and chatting with tea loving friends old and new. I’ve always loved how the word ‘chai’ makes people simultaneously smile and give themselves a little cozy hug. Come stock up and say hello! You’ll find me between the plants and the puppy bandanas, naturally. 11 - 4pm. ❤️

A wild horse, a kayak, an ice cream truck, and most recently, a bunk bed at a sleepover party (she makes me climb underneath!). This massage table has been so many things in the last four years, but my favorite and hers is still when it’s just a soft place for a mama and her daughter to enjoy some loving touch. 🩷
