Vitamin D may be the most talked-about vitamin in the world, and for good reason.
Research suggests nearly half of people globally have insufficient levels. Vitamin D is associated with healthy immune function and normal cellular activity.
The best source is free. Your body produces it from sunlight, but most of us don’t get enough. We stay indoors, winter limits exposure, and sunscreen may reduce production.
If you live in a northern region or rarely see the sun, you may be at higher risk for low levels.
I personally prioritized it during my recovery, sun when possible, supplementation when needed.
