Kathryn Crosby, one of Ebenezer Counseling's therapists, recently had the opportunity to travel to Ghana with a team of mental health professionals and pastors from Knoxville. In partnership with Feeding the Orphans, the Knoxville team led a workshop on Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), training Ghanaian social workers, teachers, and caregivers to better support children who have experienced hardship and trauma.
TBRI® is an evidence-based, trauma-informed model rooted in attachment theory and integrated with Christian faith. It offers practical strategies to create “felt safety” and strengthen attachment bonds, which in turn promote healthier behavior and deeper healing in children.
Kathryn shared that it was a privilege to help facilitate this training and to witness the eagerness of local leaders to learn and apply TBRI® strategies. The openness and dedication of the Ghanaian community made the experience deeply meaningful.
