eason it has stood the test of time- it really works. One of the foundations of TCM is the belief that each living thing has qi, which is life force. QI flows through the body in pathways known as meridians, which relate to hundreds of points on the skin. These points are known as acupoints. Pain and illness can result when blockages occur in the meridians and the flow of qi is inhibited. Acupuncture is the strategic placement of ultra thin needles in the acupoints that correspond to the patients condition. The goal of an acupuncture appointment is to renew the healthy flow of qi and restore the body to balance.

As someone that loves to constantly learn- I certainly picked a great field! There’s no shortage of ways to expand and grow myself in this profession, and this weekends muscle testing seminar is a prime example. (I also love that this community of professionals warmly welcome my tiny associate joining me 😁)

Made some new friends, saw some old ones and overall loved digging deeper into the skill of muscle testing.

I’ve been on the receiving end of muscle testing from my original chiropractor Health Within Chiropractic and since moving to Tennessee and going to Lakeway Wellness TN I’ve personally had my life and my families lives changed because of their exceptional muscle testing and nutritional support skills. I’m excited to advance my own skill and to be able to bring positive impact to my own community!

I can’t tell if it’s the novelty of opening my third treatment room (whoo hoo!!) or if there is just something special about this room but the vibes of the space are immaculate 🤌

It could also be that I splurged on something I saw at a symposium over 10 years ago and have not stopped thinking about since- I bought a Biomat.

The biomat is a mat made from amethyst and tourmaline crystals that has far infrared heat and feels incredible. It has the same health benefits as being in an infrared sauna while the gemstones create negative ions and ground the body creating a restorative state of relaxation, pain reduction and nervous system regulation.

Thank you Club Pilates for letting me (and my bambino’s) be apart of your grand opening. I LOVE reformer Pilates, it was a big part of what made my pregnancy with Bear so great. I was able to workout until the very end of my pregnancy. I actually did Pilates a few hours before my water broke!

I’m so happy there is another Club Pilates nearby and it’s wonderful to see the kind of community that’s already being built here. It was a fun day and I’m so thankful to be apart of it!

A special note from Stephen, Lauren’s husband

Today marks Lauren’s first day back in the office after four months away, and before she steps fully back into caring for others, I wanted to pause and speak directly to you—her patients, her community, and the people who make her work possible.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

The last four months have been incredibly special for our family. With the birth of our son, Barrett Asher Lyles, and alongside caring for our two-year-old daughter Nova, Lauren was given the rare and priceless gift of time—time to heal, to bond, to nurture, and to simply be present as a mother.

That time was made possible because of you.

In a world that often moves too fast and asks too much, your patience, understanding, and support allowed Lauren to step away fully and without guilt. You gave her the space to care for our children during one of the most formative seasons of their lives, and that is something I will forever be grateful for.

As her husband, I had a front-row seat to just how meaningful this time was. I watched Lauren pour herself into motherhood the same way she pours herself into her practice—with intention, compassion, and her whole heart. Those quiet mornings, the long days, the moments of exhaustion mixed with overwhelming joy—those are memories we will carry with us for a lifetime.

And while Lauren never stopped thinking about her patients—because that’s simply who she is—she was able to be fully present at home. That presence mattered. It mattered to our children. It mattered to our family. And it mattered because of the grace you extended.

Lauren is deeply passionate about what she does. Acupuncture, healing, and serving others isn’t just her profession—it’s a calling. Today, as she returns to her work refreshed, grounded, and full, she does so with an even deeper appreciation for the community she serves.

So on behalf of our entire family, thank you for trusting her, supporting her, and allowing this chapter to unfold the way it did. Your kindness didn’t just support a business—it supported a family.

I hope you’re enjoying the holiday season. I’ve cherished this time at home with my babies and am so looking forward to being back in the clinic and reconnecting with you all.

✨ I’ll be returning to the office on January 6, and my January schedule is now open.

A big thank you to Mark for holding down the fort while I’ve been away — I’m grateful to have him in the clinic and to be able to offer more availability for those ready to focus on their health in the new year.
