Marching Into Purpose: Featured Local Business Owner, Elena.
This week we’re proud to spotlight Elena, licensed massage therapist and founder of Amethyst Massage — a studio built on skill, respect, and the belief that every body deserves exceptional care.

Elena started her business when her daughter was less than a year old. Like many mothers, she wanted the opportunity to earn more, make her own decisions, and create a better life for her family. While entrepreneurship hasn’t always delivered the work–life balance she imagined, it has given her something even more powerful — the chance to lead, create, and show her daughter what it looks like to build something of your own.

What makes Elena’s work especially meaningful is who she loves serving most. Many of her favorite clients are people who often carry the weight for everyone else — especially mothers and individuals who haven’t always felt seen or comfortable in traditional wellness spaces. Her studio intentionally creates an environment where every client is welcomed and respected regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or body size.

At Amethyst Massage Knoxville, Elena and her team believe skilled bodywork should be accessible to everyone. As she says, every body deserves excellent massage in a space where they feel safe, cared for, and respected.

One of Elena’s most powerful “purpose moments” didn’t happen during a massage session — it happened as a mentor. When one of the therapists she had trained confidently handled a client referral without needing guidance, Elena realized something important: her role isn’t just to provide great massage, but also to help other therapists grow into their own confidence and excellence.

And if you’ve ever met Elena in person, you know something else immediately — she’s simply an incredible human. She’s an amazing leader, deeply supportive of the people around her, and the kind of woman everyone wants to be friends with because she instantly makes you feel seen, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.

Her hope for every client who walks through the door is simple but powerful:
to leave feeling seen, validated, and lighter — both in their body and in their spirit.
