Believe it or not, we get a lot of inquiries regarding scarring from surgeries. So we wanted to share some tips to speed up healing and reduce scarring and trauma post-surgery.

Here is a basic protocol for pre and post-surgery to help:
👩‍⚕️ Cleanse with one of DNA's nutrient-dense cleansers
👩‍⚕️ Scrub with DNA Phyto Lipid Hydrating Scrub (pictured)
👩‍⚕️ Apply the DNA Lacto Ionic Gel Peel (up to 30 days before or 30 days post-surgery)
👩‍⚕️ Cocktail a DNA mask of choice with MediClear Vitamin C Crystals, Zen Therapy Treatment Gel, and Floral Bliss. Leave on for 7 to 10 minutes
👩‍⚕️ Cleanse skin well with DNA cleanser and allow the skin to dry completely
👩‍⚕️ Apply a CryoStem Therapy Firming or Hydrating ampoule, allow to dry completely
👩‍⚕️ Follow up with a cocktail of DNA moisturizer of choice, Zen Therapy Treatment Gel, Oceana Mineral Gel, MediClear Vitamin C Crystals, Floral Bliss spray, and Elasticity Booster Drops

The DNA Skin Phyto-Lipid Hydrating Scrub uses jojoba beads to exfoliate. But what exactly are jojoba beads and aren't we supposed to be eliminating microbeads from our products?

Jojoba beads are the perfect ingredient for an effective scrub. They're tough enough to remove dead skin cells but gentle enough not to cause the microtears that other scrubbing agents can cause. And despite the fact that jojoba beads look and feel like microbeads, they are vastly different. Jojoba beads are derived from the jojoba shrub and are completely biodegradable. Their smoothe shape helps avoid microscopic tears on the skin's surface which can cause irritation and other problems.

Microbeads can be found in a variety of scrubs, soaps, and even toothpaste. While they also offer exfoliation benefits, they are made of plastics that end up in our water supply and oceans. They can also cause microtears which we want to avoid.

This is an important lesson when buying any product that is used for exfoliation. Jojoba = good. Microbeads = bad.

This is an extremely important graphic. The reason being, you don't treat boils, carbuncles, milia, or sebaceous filaments in the same way you treat acne.
