On February 15, Covenant Health of East Tennessee and Encompass Health hosted a grand opening celebration for two joint venture locations in Knoxville. We celebrated the opening of the newly renovated portion of Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital, located within Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The downtown center underwent renovations to become a 22-bed hospital-in-hospital structure, including converting all semi-private rooms to private rooms, and it has been renamed Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital Fort Sanders.

The celebrations included a ribbon cutting of a new 51-bed freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital named Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital West, located at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Pellissippi Parkway. The new facilities will begin accepting patients in early March.

Christy Myers is a Maryville native who enjoys hiking with her husband and walking their three dogs. Six months before her 50th birthday, Myers suffered a stroke.
