🏛️ Kodiak advocating in Juneau!

Our CEO, Dr. Olivera Wilson, joined fellow community health center leaders from across Alaska for the 2026 Legislative Fly-In with the Alaska Primary Care Association.

Together, they met with legislators to advocate for stronger rural healthcare, expanded access to care, and continued support for community health centers serving Alaskans every day. 💙

When health center leaders come together to share the realities facing our communities, real change becomes possible.

Who we are

KCHC is a family medicine clinic caring for patient’s ages newborn to seniors. We are a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located on the beautiful island of Kodiak, Alaska. We serve all patients, accept all insurances, and offer discounted fees to patients who qualify.

What do we mean by “Patient Centered?” We mean our practice is built around our patients and their needs. Picture the patient and the provider as the hub of a wheel, in partnership to maximize the health and well-being of the patient. The spokes, they are any of the patient’s specialist, hospitals, insurance companies, pharmacies, and any other healthcare and medical needs. Our aim is to work as partners with our patients to provide patient centered services that are comprehensive, timely, convenient, safe, and satisfying.

A community health center is a non-profit, community-owned health care center offering services to all citizens, including those with low income levels and/or are medically under-served. For more than 40 years, the national network of community health centers (also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers) have provided high quality, affordable primary care and prevention services to everyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay for those services. We are the community’s health care safety net.
