Our children’s growth starts with how they breathe and swallow. 👅💨

I’m Tina Reece, and I founded It Takes a Village because I’ve been the parent looking for answers. I saw my son struggle with issues I later learned were tied to myofunctional dysfunction, and I made it my mission to help other families avoid that same heartbreak.

Myofunctional therapy is a vital piece of the health puzzle, impacting:
🔹 Sleep & Breathing
🔹 Feeding & Development
🔹 Jaw & Facial Growth

Is a "good latch" feeling impossible? 🍼

Sometimes, the struggle isn't about the "how," It's about the function. I provide functional assessments for infants facing:

👉 Suspected tongue or lip ties
👉 Disorganized sucking patterns
👉 Poor latch and feeding fatigue

I work alongside your feeding team to ensure your little one has the oral motor skills they need to thrive.

We talk a lot about "the basics," but movement isn’t just about exercise. It’s about biological regulation. When kids (and adults!) head outdoors, magic happens for our myofunctional health:

👉 Natural Breath Work: Active play encourages deeper diaphragmatic breathing and helps transition away from shallow chest breathing.
👉 The "Sensory Reset": Uneven terrain, wind and sunshine provide the sensory input needed to calm the nervous system, making it easier to focus on oral rest posture later.
👉 Postural Support: Climbing and running strengthen the core and neck muscles that support a healthy airway.

Don't worry; even if 'outdoor play' is just a 5-minute dash between thunderstorms to jump in a puddle, that sensory reset still counts! We’re Hoosiers; we’re functionally adaptable. 😂
