International Alliance of Wound Care Scholarship Foundation

IAWCSF, Inc. is a non-profit corporation operated exclusively individuals pursuing and education in wound care certification.

Scholarship applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Scholarship applications are accepted by healthcare providers worldwide. There are no residency restrictions to apply. Selected scholarship recipients are awarded funding which must be used to complete advanced education specific to wound care, and additionally a certification in wound care. Scholarships may be in varying amounts depending on the cost of the education course and certification chosen. Scholarships will not exceed $1500.00 per recipient. The scholarship will be paid directly to the education provider chosen by the recipient and the certifying body for the Wound Care Certified credential, the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO). Awarding scholarships that provide health care providers with funding for advanced wound care education and certification helps to further the purpose of the International Alliance of Wound Care Scholarship Foundation to help reduce the US and global burden of wounds and associated costs by creating a larger number of providers who are educated specifically in treating this problem.

100% of the International Alliance of Wound Care Scholarship Foundation’s time is dedicated to advancing the healthcare clinician in wound care. Funding for the International Alliance of Wound Care Scholarship Foundation is provided by donations from outside sources. Wound care education providers, wound care product vendors, health care provider organizations, and health-related certification organizations are among those who have donated to this cause. In the healthcare profession, those who deal with wounds are acutely aware of the problem that exists and is readily donating funds to help address this problem on a larger scale. While basic medical training provides knowledge of wound treatment, the need for advanced knowledge and specific wound training is evident based on the staggering numbers of wounds and associated costs seen in the US alone.
