This Brain Cancer Awareness Month, it’s important to understand the impact of brain cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 25,000 malignant brain and spinal cord tumors are diagnosed in the U.S. each year.

These cancers account for about 3% of all cancer deaths, despite being relatively rare.

The Neuro-Oncology Clinic at Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center provides an aggressive, multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and care for tumors in the brain and spinal cord, using advanced medical and surgical practices.

Did you know these could be signs of bladder cancer? Symptoms can be caused by other conditions, but they shouldn’t be ignored.

Talk to your doctor if you experience:
1. Blood in the urine
The most common early sign. Urine may look pink, red or rust‐colored, or blood may only be detected on a urine test, sometimes without pain.
2. Changes in urination
This can include going more often, feeling an urgent need to urinate even when the bladder isn’t full or waking up frequently at night to go.
3. Pain or burning during urination
Persistent discomfort during urination can be a warning sign and should be checked by a doctor.
Trust your body. If something feels off, talk to a healthcare provider.
