Utah State University Extension, under Troy’s guidance, hosted a star party at Capitol Reef National Park last night. It was an amazing evening meeting new people and spending time out in nature. If any of you are interested in joining Troy’s Dark Sky Project, let us know. The next location is Goblin Valley State Park on March 1st.

Friends, we have had an amazing Spring and Summer with lots of healthy lambs ready for purchase. We are dropping them off at the butcher on Sept 22nd. Icelandic lamb is prized for it's delicate taste, fine grain, and superb texture, our grass-fed and grass-finished lamb is delicate and mild. It boasts unsaturated and heart-healthy mono-saturated fats, zinc, iron, vitamin b, and other essential minerals and vitamins--making it an exceptionally healthy option. If you weren't a lamb fanatic before, this will change your mind!

To all the haters out there that said I could not grow anything outdoors in Koosharem, Utah, well… five jalapeños and one habanero proves you can do it! Okay, so that is the total amount of my harvest for this year, but who knows… perhaps a new side hustle is in the making…. Koosharem Salsa Co. Although all my tomatoes died, and no onions, and my cilantro didn’t have a chance. But hot peppers? It’s a start! Looking forward to serving our community members through my new work with Utah State University Extension. I could not be more proud to work with and for such an excellent organization. I am continually amazed at the outstanding services they provide. My new position in mental health and Veterans in Farming/Ranching is an exciting challenge. I am looking forward to meeting so many great people in our communities and serving our population to help meet the needs in mental wellness. The first set of pinch pot monsters are completed. They will be hanging out to dry before heading to the kiln. The kids all made unicorn monsters. It will be fun to see the colors transform once they are fired.
