Both 988 and 911 provide critical support—but they serve different types of crises.

📞 988 Lifeline: For mental health, emotional distress, su***de prevention, and substance use challenges. You’ll be connected to trained counselors who provide support, de-escalation, and resources.

🚨 911: For immediate physical danger or emergencies requiring police, fire, or medical assistance.

Knowing the difference can save lives and ensure people get the right kind of help when they need it most.

Both 988 and 911 provide critical support but focus on different crisis types: the 988 Lifeline specializes in mental health, su***de, and substance use challenges, while 911 addresses physical dangers needing police, fire, or EMS.

To the families and community members of Kosciusko,

Our hearts are heavy as we stand with you during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of lives this past week has deeply impacted your community, and we want you to know that you are not alone.

At Every Mind Matters Project, we recognize that grief, shock, and emotional pain can affect each person differently. During moments like these, it is important to give yourself and your loved ones grace—there is no “right” way to process loss.

We encourage families to check in with one another, especially with children and youth who may not yet have the words to express what they are feeling. Create safe spaces for open conversations, offer reassurance, and remind one another that it’s okay to seek support.

Mental health matters—now more than ever.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please do not hesitate to reach out for help. Whether it’s a trusted friend, a counselor, a faith leader, or a mental health professional, support is available and healing is possible.

As a community, we are stronger when we come together—leaning on one another, showing compassion, and extending love in the face of tragedy.

We are holding Kosciusko in our thoughts and prayers and stand with you in support, healing, and hope.
