Occupational therapy is a client-centered health profession concerned with promoting health and wellbeing through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life.

🌟 Student Spotlight - Madison Hall, Occupational Therapy Assistant Student 🌟

Madison is an occupational therapy assistant student at Holmes Community College. She is originally from Madison, MS. Following graduation, Madison plans to sit for her NBCOT Exam and begin working as a COTA. She says she hopes to continue growing her clinical skills and eventually pursue advancement in her education. When asked what she has enjoyed most about being at Premier Rehab, Madison says that she has loved the supportive, team environment and opportunity to treat a variety of diagnoses. “It has allowed me to build confidence, strengthen my hands on skills, and truly see the impact OT has on helping clients return to meaningful daily activities.”

🌟Student Highlight: Kayla Carpenter, Physical Therapy Assistant Student🌟

Kayla is a PTA student at Holmes Community College. She is originally from Grenada, MS. Following graduation Kayla plans to continue preparing for the NPTE licensure exam. “I would like to look into a travel PTA position to gain more experience and enjoy traveling with my husband while we can for a year or two and look for a full time position close to home.”
When asked what she has enjoyed most about working at premier, Kayla says, “Everyone at Premier is so fun and welcoming! They all have made me feel like family from the first day. I also love seeing and working with all ages and diagnosis. I have had a fantastic experience at Premier with Amy as my CI and all clinical staff as well. I’m thankful to have had this opportunity as I have learned so much.”
