Is it just me, or did Wednesday get a total makeover?

The B.C. (Before Child) Wednesday:

Energy: Peak midweek productivity.

Focus: Inbox zero, meal prepping, and a scheduled 6 PM workout.

Vibe: "Hump Day" meant we were halfway to the weekend. 🧘‍♀️

The After-Arrival Wednesday:

Energy: Currently powered by lukewarm coffee and a prayer.

Focus: Survival. Did I brush my teeth? Did the baby nap? Is that spit-up or just my new perfume?

Vibe: "Hump Day" means trying to climb over the mountain of laundry on the "clean" chair. 🏔️

If your "midweek hustle" currently looks more like a "midweek huddle" on the couch trying to find your flow, you’re doing it right. Everything eventually falls into place, but for today, "survival" is a top-tier productivity level.

Cheers to making it to Wednesday—however you got here! 🥂✨

The "All-Night Buffet" (aka Cluster Feeding)
If it feels like your baby has been eating for three hours straight… you aren’t alone. You’re just experiencing Cluster Feeding. How to spot it:

Baby wants to eat every 20–30 mins (usually in the evening).

They seem fussy or "never full" despite just feeding.

Constant rooting and searching.

The "Why":
They aren't broken, and your supply isn't gone! They are "placing an order" to increase your milk production for a growth spurt. 📈

Survivor Tips:

Hydrate & Snack: Keep a "nursing station" with water and easy eats.

Lean In: Ask your partner or a friend to handle everything else while you’re stuck on the couch.

Reach Out: If you’re feeling overwhelmed or worried about weight gain, call a lactation consultant or a supportive friend.

Hang in there—this is a short season, and you’re doing amazing. ✨

Many babies prefer to stay close after feeding. Feeding is not just about milk — it also provides warmth, regulation, and reassurance.

Remaining close after feeds can help babies transition calmly and feel secure. Over time, babies gradually become more comfortable with separation.

Closeness is part of early attachment and development.

Let's look at the "Proof in the Pudding." 🍮🌿🥛

When it comes to boosting milk supply, there is a lot of "old wives' tales" out there. But a 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis published in Women and Children Nursing has brought some serious receipts to the table.

The study analyzed high-quality clinical trials and found that plant-based galactagogues (like Fenugreek, Shatavari, and Ginger) lead to a 158.9 mL increase in daily milk volume. 📊

Why does this matter?
It’s about more than just a full bottle. The research showed a 23% increase in Prolactin, meaning these herbs are physically signaling the body to produce more milk. For parents, this translates to babies regaining birth weight faster and a more confident breastfeeding journey.

The Pro-Tip: While the "proof" is in the pudding, these herbs aren't a "magic pill." They are most effective when paired with frequent milk removal and professional guidance to ensure the right herb is being used for the right reason.

Breastfeeding begins long before the first feed.

Learning about milk production, newborn feeding cues, and common early challenges during pregnancy can help parents feel more confident after birth.

Prenatal preparation doesn’t guarantee a perfect experience — but it can reduce uncertainty and help families recognize when support may be helpful.

Knowledge becomes reassurance during those first weeks.
