Picnic In The Park Series

The residents had a wonderful time attending the first “Picnic in the Park” series at our local gem, Walter W. Mock Memorial Park, just up the road from us.

It truly is the perfect spot to relax, listening to the flowing water, watching the birds, and enjoying nature. One of the highlights of the day was spotting a beautiful pileated woodpecker!

Even though the weather wasn’t the best, we made the most of it and enjoyed a great day outdoors together.

Next month we will be off to Beltzville!

What a beautiful day for our Earth Day celebration!

We were lucky to have gorgeous weather for a fun-filled day with the children. The kids enjoyed painting clay pots and planting marigold seeds…getting their hands dirty while learning about caring for our planet.

Activities like this highlight the importance of intergenerational programs, bringing together different ages to share experiences, knowledge, and joy. Celebrating Earth Day together not only teaches environmental responsibility but also builds meaningful connections within our community.

The Pocono Photo Club kicked off their Travelers Series with an incredible first presentation!

Sam Prynda took us on a breathtaking journey through Alaska, while Laurinda Faye shared a powerful presentation, “Victory in the Pacific.”

Programs like these highlight the many benefits of educational and travel-based presentations bringing history, culture, and the beauty of our world right to our home. They inspire curiosity, spark a love for learning, and allow us to experience places and stories we may never otherwise see.

Thank you to both presenters for sharing their knowledge and passion! We look forward to having them back with another presentation in July!

Brunch for Lunch Success!

Every other month, we host a special themed luncheon for all of our residents and this month, we decided to try something new… Brunch for Lunch!

The menu was a delicious hit, featuring mimosas, fresh fruit, quiche, breakfast casserole, and southern chicken & waffles. To top it all off, we enjoyed a sweet slice of coffee cake to complete the meal.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with great food (thanks to our amazing kitchen!), smiles, and time spent together. We love trying new ideas and creating special moments for our residents!

Did you know April is Occupational Therapy Month?

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps individuals maintain independence and improve their ability to perform everyday activities, whether it’s dressing, cooking, mobility, or overall wellness. It focuses on enhancing quality of life through personalized care, movement, and functional skills.

We were fortunate to have OT Wanda from H2 Health lead an informative session, sharing valuable insight into what occupational therapy is all about. She also guided us through helpful stretches and breathing exercises that promote strength, flexibility, and relaxation.

We are proud to have H2Health in our home as part of our care team, supporting the health and well-being of our residents every day!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our latest AMERICA250 Speaker Series event!

We had a wonderful time welcoming Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm for their presentation, “Lighting Through the Ages.” It was fascinating to learn how lighting has evolved over time and the important role it played in everyday life throughout history.

Stay tuned as our AMERICA250 speaker series continues each month with more engaging and educational presentations you won’t want to miss!
