A photo dump of my latest herbal escapades!

1. A cozy cup of homemade mushroom chai latte. I was never into the autumnal drink scene until this year 🫣

2. My arsenal of David Winston's herbs that continue to be staples in my Lyme recovery as well as blue vervain and adaptogens for mood support - thank you David for making me less hot headed each day ❤️

3. My oldest son and I have built a ritual around herbal tea with our bedtime stories. Our current signature blend consists of elderberry, chamomile, rosehips, stinging nettle, red raspberry leaf, and cinnamon 😋

4. Answering the call from the beyond with Stephen Harrod Buhner's works

5. From a very special cacao ceremony I led at my dear friend Marianna's blessing way!

6. My first volunteer event at . I was invited to volunteer at their Regenerative Healthcare Conference. Heard snippets from the presentation by Anne Biklé, author of "What Your Food Ate", and will be adding her book to my "To Read" list.

7. Last but not least - a sneak peak of my dear husband's new production space for . After nearly a year we are finally back to producing Mighty Immunity and boy does it feel good! More on that to come!

Would love to hear about some of your recent herbal experiments, interactions, and wins!

Already missing this year's Black Walnut Botanical Conference 🥹

Grateful for Nick convincing me to share my Lyme story with David Winston, whose tinctures have been a staple to my recovery. His talks were the highlight of my weekend and I feel like I walked away with a wealth of knowledge and new energetic tethers to my fellow herbal friends 🌿

Some of us were in talks of creating a local AHG chapter in eastern PA so fingers crossed we can work something out 🤞

I can't wait to see what's next in this chapter of growth. I'm not really sure where Solsprite is headed right now as I continue to expand my knowledge but I will still certainly keep sharing updates in my journey. Honestly, I've been so busy starting a new job and helping my husband grow his business that it's hard to find time for this project, but I truly believe this is intentional as I work towards my registered herbalist (RH) accreditation and continue to be humbled by my studies.

In the meantime, I'll be soaking up all the joy this weekend brought me! Thank you to Amy, Chris, and all the amazing people who have worked hard behind the scenes to make this event possible.

Thank you so much for another fantastic event. Some of my favorite highlights from today's would be the speech from our US Secretary of Agriculture, the soil and UV research station, the water quality exhibit from Stroud Center, and of course, the Boiron medicinal garden! Dr. Panday, a soil scientist, offered Nick some helpful feedback on his homemade biochar. We love being so close to the birthplace of the US organic movement and feel so lucky we got the opportunity to attend this year's Field Day! 🌱

If you savor the little things in life like stopping to smell the roses, hugging trees, the soothing first inhale of a fresh lavender stem, or forest bathing... this is the circle for you 🌀✨

At this month's Herbal Circle, we are taking a step back from our usual herbal studies to examine the human-plant relationship and the energy exchange that comes with it. In doing so, we will explore various herbal actions and how this energy exchange is a holistic piece to the puzzle of our well-being.

A decorative floral mandala centerpiece will adorn a special evening of gratitude just in time for the upcoming summer solstice. We will sample herbal teas with varying actions, meditate to connect with the plant medicine before us, and create a cooling spray with various hydrosols to take home.

Recent views from the Kleinsmith kitchen! This past week we have been dipping our toes in the big wide world of fermenting foods, starting with sourdough and kefir.

I decided to take a leap of faith after partaking in my first ever fermentation class at last year's Black Walnut Botanical Conference, where I prepared my first homemade sauerkraut. Sadly I never got to eat it because I ended up in the hospital a week later, only to give birth and move homes only a few weeks afterwards. You could say the sauerkraut fell on the back burner, but it did fuel my confidence to try more fermentation nonetheless!

The teacher from that day recommended "The Art of Fermentation" by Sandor Ellix Katz, and I recently had the chance to make it mine! Hence my husband and children have suddenly been bombarded with sourdough discard cookies, sourdough bread, and now there is kefir on the way. 😆

This experience is making me fall in love with creating in the kitchen all over again. What will come next? Kombucha, wine, pickles, kimchi, all of the above? Will I redeem myself with more kraut? Stay tuned 🤪

(FYI Chelsea Green Publishing still has the book on sale for half off - not sponsored, just helping my fellow mad kitchen scientists!)

In the rebirth of spring, many of Mother Earth's first botanicals to rise from the ground are healers of our digestive system, aligning with a time of year for cleansing and renewal. You are invited to our intimate herbal gathering at Wellspring On Main exploring a series of herbal digestive bitters, many of which can be foraged or intentionally grown in your own backyard in spring and summer. Samples of digestive bitters tea and tinctures will allow you to use your senses to explore this unique category of herbs!

✨ We are so back ✨

In my opinion, there is no better way to learn about herbal medicine than by engaging in joyful gatherings and ceremonies in honor of the plants. And that is exactly what our Plant Medicine Circle at is!

In this month's circle, we will honor one of the largest plant families, Rosaceae, learning to identify its distinguishable characteristics and using our senses to explore the classic rose we all know and love. That means lots of samples of delectable rose chocolate and body oil to complete the experience 🌹

Once a quarter we will have special sessions on topics like tonifying herbs and herbal energetics. All levels of experience are welcome!

Please help out by spreading the word so this reaches those who are able to join in on the fun!

A glimpse of my life as I walk through the fire ~

One hospital visit, Lyme diagnosis, first home purchase, and debilitating pregnancy later. At (very approximately) 38 weeks pregnant, life has never been crazier - but I think we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've never experienced a health crisis quite like this one in my life, and every day, I pray for the health and safety of my little sprite as he prepares to pass through the birth portal and begin life as we know it.

All of this to say that while Solsprite has had to remain on the back burner for a bit, believe me when I say the fire is still lit. I am grateful to share that I am almost completely out of my inventory from before I took this breather, but I hope to be back in the shop making my favorite remedies for you soon. In the meantime, we've still got some of your favorites on the shelf, and orders are still shipping out and being delivered with extra love.

We have a new production area in the works that is bound to be a game changer (AHH!), and I expect to be back to formulating this spring! Thank you for honoring my season of rest and continuing to support. For now, the seeds have been sown for a very bright future of healing and prosperity! 🌞

Solsprite is joining the Gnome Hunt happening at St. Peter's Village this Sunday from 12-3! We are giving away a bag of Solsprite remedies to one lucky winner who finds our gnome hidden in the woods, including a never-seen-before aromatherapy roller "Mythical Garden" that you won't find in our Etsy store. Gnomes are tricky, so may the odds be ever in your favor. See you there!

Fresh blooms happening on this sacred land. I am still learning a lot about this little town we live in, but it is my understanding we are on Lenape land. When I tap into the nature energy here, I am often reminded that we are merely stewards of this land, and it belongs to nobody but Mother Earth herself. Ethical foraging has been a learning lesson for my son, harvesting just enough medicine for our wellness while letting the ecosystem at peace. Unfortunately, as you can see in some of these photos, we also have a lot of invasive species on our property that we have been trying to manage. As beautiful and sometimes tasty as they are, it's a shame how few native plants remain here.

Our garden continues to thrive as you can see by all the happy calendula flowers reaching towards the sun! We are preparing to dry some herbs in the dehydrator for the first time soon, including mullein, plantain, raspberry leaf, and more. We are so blessed to have such an abundant harvest! Once I'm feeling more rested, I will be sharing some remedies created with these ethically foraged herbs made with extra love. Those days are coming soon! Happy weekend and be well! 🌞
