HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. Celebrate today by feeling incredible, powerful and invest in a woman you know today by a thought, a wish, a note of support or a small gift of gratitude for them, their work and their will.

WE RETURN to our work here but with a change of progression investing and involving the communities we work with. Bringing their needs to international attention, utilizing their members for community outreach and going inward to create real solutions to very real problems.

We look forward to the year ahead.

Any help we receive goes directly to the Berega Hospital. This Mother's Day, please remember mothers all over the world, here and lost.

Consider a donation this Mother's Day at Twbproject.org/Help. Dedicate your gift to your mother. We will send her a personal thank you.

Every cent counts. Every second counts.

We are raising funding to complete the progressive concept of a maternity waiting home where women can make the day(s)-long travel pre-labor and be adjacent to the hospital for delivery. Globally over 40% of births require intervention and prolonged labor is the leading cause of maternal loss in Berega. Help fund the completion of this home to directly impact chances of survival for mothers and their infants in Berega, Tanzania. For pictures of Berega visit Twbproject.org.

DID YOU KNOW pregnancy in Tanzania is not discussed? It is not assumed the mother or newborn will survive. Basic obstetric care is a human right. They have the will, we have the resources. Please watch for our up-coming Mother's Day event celebrating and advocating for global maternal and infant health. All of our funds raised directly benefit the Berega Hospital, Berega, Tanzania.

On May 23, 2009 the New York Times ran Denise Grady’s brilliantly reported article called “Where Life’s Start is a Deadly Risk” about the reality of childbirth and its perils at the Berega Hospital in the Morogoro district of Tanzania and sub-Saharan Africa in general. I have had the luxury of visit...

Check out Christy Turlington's article on motherhood in the Huffington Post - http://goo.gl/GzuE5

Most mothers in this country and in the West accept sacrifices willfully because the joy and beauty of motherhood overwhelms them. In much of the rest of the world, however, the sacrifice of motherhood means something very different.
