Last week, we were entrusted with the sacred responsibility of caring for two courageous firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, Chief Jeffory Buck and Assistant Chief Robert Shick, Jr., of Walnuttown Fire Company.

The outpouring of support from our community was nothing short of extraordinary. The services were powerful, humbling, and deeply moving — a true reflection of the lives these heroes lived and the immeasurable impact they had on so many. From fellow firefighters standing in unwavering solidarity, to the countless family members, friends, and neighbors who gathered in honor and remembrance, the strength and unity displayed will remain with us forever.

We are profoundly humbled to have been chosen to serve these families during such an unimaginable time. To walk beside them, offering care and support, is a privilege we hold with the utmost respect and gratitude.

A special Thank You goes out to Walnuttown Fire and Rescue, Blandon Fire Department, Community Fire Company of Virginville, Fleetwood Borough Emergency Management, Fleetwood Police Department, Fleetwood Fire Company, Borough of Fleetwood, Dr. Greg Miller, Elaine Bleiler, Tom DeAngelo and the entire Fleetwood Area School District, and to everyone who was involved in the planning process, what a pleasure and honor to assist with all of you.

May we all continue to remember their courage, their dedication, and the legacy they leave behind. And may the spirit of unity and compassion so deeply felt throughout this tragedy continue to carry forward in their honor.

With Deep Gratitude,

Jonathan Quier, Deron Youse and our entire team at Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care.

Good evening, Fleetwood Borough residents. It is with heavy hearts that we share information concerning the events surrounding the fallen firefighters that impact our community this weekend. We appreciate your patience and support during this most difficult time.

Please expect significant traffic in and through the Borough, especially around the Fleetwood High School Friday night and Saturday for the funeral for the two fallen firefighters from Walnuttown Fire Company. Richmond Street will be posted "No parking" in certain areas Saturday to accommodate the increased traffic. Arch, Maple and Race Streets, near the Fleetwood Park, will also be posted "No Parking" for Saturday.

On behalf of the Fleetwood Borough, we wish to extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends and anyone who knew and loved Chief Buck and Assistant Chief Shick, as well as the Walnuttown Fire Company. We are so proud to be a part of such a caring community that has first responders, many who are volunteers, who put their life on the line to help keep us all safe and respond to our emergencies at the cost of their own safety. Their watch may be over, but their sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Be patient, be safe, be kind.
Have a wonderful evening.
