Hello friends, our phones will remain forwarded to our answering service on Thursday, August 14th. The office will be open but not our phones. The staff has lots of administrative and clinical things to catch up on such as referrals, scheduling conflicts, patient insurance issues, medication refills, portal and voicemail messages all due to the disruption in patient care over the last 4 weeks. We are taking the time to catch up on those things so we ask that you be patient and understanding. If you are able, we encourage you to utilize your patient portal. Thank you so much.

Hello friends, Courtney here. I am the Practice Manager for Gilcrease Medical Group. I would like to take this opportunity to clear up any misinformation that has been circling the internet. Dr. Gilcrease's license is currently suspended which is public information as many of you have found out. It stems from an incident last year involving a patient complaint to the Texas Medical Board. He failed to take his Juris Prudence exam to satisfy the requirements of the investigation. He is currently rectifying this oversight and will appear before the board to have his suspension lifted and get back to normal. He is not in jail nor is he strung out drugs. I have personally known Dr. Gilcrease for almost 20 years and have worked with him for that amount of time. Dr. Gilcrease is not an alcoholic and I have seen him drink one glass of wine in my presence nor does he do drugs. We couldn't have alcohol at our Christmas parties for crying out loud. I believe the saying is "innocent until proven guilty" but I know that Dr. Gilcrease realizes that is just an illusion and contradicts what people want to believe because it makes them feel better about themselves and fits their narrative.
At the end of the day, everyone has a choice. You have a choice who you pick for your healthcare provider. Adversely, you should be able to trust those hands you put your life and treatment in and if that's not Dr. Gilcrease, then we understand and wish you well. We should be thankful we have the ability to choose. I've been hearing rumblings that there are certain people out there that do not wish him well and relish in the idea that he never comes back. I hope those people find peace in their misery and move on to another healthcare provider. He is determined to get back to what he loves doing and that will be a day to celebrate!

Things are going to be a lot different in the future when Dr. Gilcrease resumes practicing medicine and in certain treatment plans and can't wait to see that come into fruition. This will not happen again. The paradigm for certain treatment plans has changed over the years and while Dr. Gilcrease has tried to do what he thinks best with those treatment plans in not disrupting them, unfortunately no longer exist. We seek only peace and positivity in this practice and if that's not your bag then please move on. I thank those patients and friends who have remained loyal, understanding, and sympathetic to our situation. Your inability to seek care with our clinic this past week and a half is not lost on me or my staff. Unfortunately, everything boils down to Dr. Gilcrease's inability to supervise our Nurse Practitioners. We now have two supervising doctors on board that has graciously stepped in to help us serve our patients. Dr. Diego Moreno and his lovely wife Dr. Adriana Castillo will be supervising and seeing some of our patients. They are wonderful people and I have been communicating with them quite a bit since last week and getting everything finalized so they can officially and temporarily take over supervising delegations. They have an office in San Marcos with their own patient load but are so willing to help us and for that Dr. Gilcrease and I will be forever grateful. I am also extremely thankful to certain people at Privia for their help in this transition and facilitating it as fast and as smooth as they did.

Some of you may have had encounters with me in the past on Facebook when Dr. Gilcrease was arrested. So you know I don't play nor do I put up with ignorant people. This is my office too and will defend it until I can't. So what you think is happening without 100% knowledge of the situation is irrelevant to me and you should probably keep that to yourself.

Weather announcement!
Our physical office will be closed tomorrow and possibly Wednesday as well, but Dr. Gilcrease, Rita, and Mireya will be seeing patients virtually. Unfortunately we won’t have access to our phone system but if you utilize your patient portal, you can send us a message if you would like to make an appointment or if you just have questions and would like a medical assistant to call you.
