During National Hospital Week, 1,745 caregivers were showered with love during appreciation events at Ascension Seton Hays, Edgar B. Davis, Smithville, Bastrop and Southwest. From prize wheels to barbecue lunches to fruit cup bars, our community put huge smiles on the faces of our dedicated, compassionate caregivers.

These celebrations are possible because of the tremendous support from our community partners.

What a great start to Hospital Week! Thanks to Aqua Water Supply Corporation for serving a great barbeque lunch for our caregivers at Ascension Seton Smithville.

Last year, Ascension Seton Smithville cared for over 11,000 patients across Bastrop and surrounding counties. Our caregivers work tirelessly to ensure great care is available to our rural communities.

Today, we give thanks for the life and legacy of Pope Francis—a faithful servant who reminded the world of the power of love and humility. His unwavering care for the poor and vulnerable, and his call to compassion, will continue to guide us.

At Ascension, we join Catholics and people of goodwill around the world in prayer and gratitude. As a Catholic health ministry, we remain committed to the healing ministry of Jesus and to carrying forward the values Pope Francis championed—kindness, justice, and care for the most vulnerable among us and all of God’s creation.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his example continue to inspire us all.

Our Circle of Caring meet for their granting lunch to hear inspiring project applications from our caregivers at Ascension Seton Hays. They will provide over $13,000 to fund new projects and equipment across the hospital!
