There’s just something about a big American flag flying in a small town. 🇺🇸

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we wanted to give a shoutout to MB Construction for the beautiful flag that flies so brightly in Monticello. It’s hard to drive by and not feel a little pride for this country and the communities we call home.

Small towns like ours are built on hard work, sacrifice, family, and people willing to show up for one another. We’re grateful to be part of that every single day.

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. Take time to relax, spend time with those you love, and remember the reason for the holiday.

Every time we drive through Canton and see our billboard, it makes things feel a little more real. ❤️

What started as conversations and big dreams for Lewis County is slowly becoming reality. We are so excited to continue growing Healthspan in Canton and serving even more families across our community.

As a reminder, Healthspan DPC will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful weekend spent with family, friends, and community as we remember and honor those who gave everything for our country.
We will reopen Tuesday morning with normal hours.

One of our favorite sights in La Belle has always been a parking lot full of vehicles. 🚗

Yesterday, Canton gave us a little taste of that feeling. Between mapping out walls, talking through plans, and people stopping by all afternoon, the place already felt full of energy and community.

Hannah and Matt stopped by, our handy dandy Uncle Terry and Doug were able to sneak away from the fields because of the rain to help us map out the new walls. We also had folks stop in to talk landscaping and mowing, visits from the Liberty Gas crew, and lots of conversations about what this space could become.

Right now it’s tape lines and big ideas—but we’re making progress, and we’re excited. We’ve always believed Healthspan is built by good people showing up for each other, and today felt like a reminder of that.

Glenda is bringing the summer vibes to this rainy week. 🍉☀️

She showed up today in her watermelon bikini, red sunglasses, and sun hat… fully prepared for pool weather even if Mother Nature didn’t get the memo. 😂

At this point, we’re hoping she can manifest a little sunshine for all of us here in Lewis County this week. Until then, Glenda will be holding down the porch and keeping the summer energy alive at Healthspan.

We’re pretty excited about this first outfit. 👀🌧️🏖️

We closed on our Canton location on Tuesday.

Is this picture perfect? Nope.

Aaron had worked a full day. Steph had a dentist appointment in Quincy. The kids didn’t have school, so all three kids tagged along for the day. Then it was back to the clinic with the kids to finish up Healthspan DPC tasks and get ready for closing.
By the time we made it to closing… we were exhausted.

Oh, and after this picture? Steph and the kids went BACK to Quincy for 2.5 hours of Taekwondo while Aaron headed into a full evening of work.

This life can be incredibly rewarding, but it’s not always glamorous.

There are long days, late nights, tired kids, logistics, sacrifices, uncertainty, and countless behind-the-scenes moments that people never see. But there’s also purpose. There’s excitement. There’s belief in what we’re building.

And honestly, we wouldn’t trade it.

In all seriousness, we want to thank the Canton Community Center for seeing our vision and allowing us the opportunity to purchase this space. We are incredibly excited for the future of Healthspan DPC Canton and what this next chapter means for our community.

Now here’s to hoping all the utilities switched over correctly. 😂

Protein is one of the most important nutrients for overall health—and most people probably aren’t getting enough of it. 💪

Protein helps support:
• Muscle strength and recovery
• Energy and metabolism
• Healthy aging
• Blood sugar control
• Feeling full longer between meals

A good general goal for many adults is around 20–30 grams of protein per meal, though needs can vary depending on age, activity level, and health goals. Many people only focus on protein at supper, but spreading it throughout the day can make a big difference.

Easy ways to increase protein:
🥚 Eggs
🥩 Lean meats
🥛 Greek yogurt/cottage cheese
🫘 Beans and legumes
🥤 Protein shakes
