🇺🇸 Yesterday we honored our residents and associates who are heroes in our eyes. We have one associate and 4 residents who have served in our military.

🫡 Ginger Atkins (Executive Director) presented our veterans with a certificate and gift. Jack Rudy was our guest speaker, and Roger O'Bryan did our closing prayer. Our residents and associates got to mention their family members who also served our country. After our program we served refreshments.

It wouldn't be Veteran's Day without Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA," which we played to start off our program. "Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 ❤️🤍💙

🗨️ "I can't thank the people here enough! I am glad to go home, but if I have to, I would come back here anytime!" – Leveda

Leveda had experienced multiple falls and heart issues, and when she arrived here, she needed a lot of assistance with bed mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing and self-care. She wasn't able to walk. 👩‍🦽

Physical and occupational therapists worked with her 5 days a week to help her reach her goals and go home to her children. When she completed her program with us, she only needed supervision for standing, walking and managing stairs. She could take care of her personal hygiene tasks with setup assistance. We wish you all the best, Leveda! 🌟

🎃 We had our Halloween party on Friday, with some great food, games and costume winners!

🏆 Linda Young was our overall winner for best costume. Our resident winners each had an employee help them with their costume. First place was Diane Hughes (Vanessa McClure), Second place was Judy Owsley (Cora Smith) and Third place was Lois Thompson (David Pemberton).

🎉Staff winners were: 1st place Ginger Atkins, 2nd place Katelyn Poloski, and 3rd place Jennifer Bagwell. Thanks to everyone that helped make this party a blast! Thanks to Shannon and Cheryl for making sure our residents live their best lives. 💗

We recently participated in our local Walk to End Alzheimer’s. 👟 This is such a great cause to support! Thanks to the Alzheimer's Association for such an awesome job they do every year and all the work they do to help those that are affected by this disease. We want to thank everyone who helped us raise money that goes toward the fight to end Alzheimer's. 💜

October was Pastor Appreciation Month! ✝️
We are blessed to live in a community that have pastors that come to our facility to do services and visit with our residents. We gave them all a gift to let them know they are appreciated. 👏

Below are just 2 of the pastors we are privileged to have in our lives: Youth Pastor James Ouderkirk from First Baptist Church, La Center and Pastor Letoun Bledsoe from Grace Church of La Center.
