Incredibly honored to be part of the specialist panel for the 10th annual pre-PT conference at USC this past weekend. I'm so proud of these college students and what they can pull off. It's always refreshing to talk to the next generation of physical therapists. I miss working with PT students these days and rarely have the time to give back to the profession so truly appreciated the opportunity. It is especially bittersweet as my PCS expires this year after 10 years and I am not going to renew it (for a number of reasons). It was also nice meeting local PTs. It gets lonely sometimes when you work by yourself.
Special shout out to Karen Cohen Photography for my recent headshot. 📸

Spent the morning with at their Duarte location seeing the magic behind prosthetist/orthotist Mark Rodriguez's work helping children walk and stand better with custom fit orthotics. Did you know they make cranial reshaping helmets too? Mark has been in practice for over 30 years. You can find him at when he is not in his satellite clinics. These kiddos are lucky to have all this knowledge and expertise around!👟

I am ready to meet you 2024 babies! Due to popular demand...Lil' Peanuts PT now offers "well baby" check ups for babies during their first year. Just like regular pediatrician check ups throughout the first year. . . gross motor check ups can be helpful for first time parents who aren't quite sure what to look out for in terms of babies meeting milestones each month. That's where I come in! These are low pressure sessions where I answer questions and show great exercises for the next couple of months. And most importantly. . . ease parents' worries about their baby! 👶

Happy International Women's Day! 🦸‍♀️
As a female small business owner and a mother of girls, this day signifies to me the importance of supporting and empowering the women in our lives. Let us celebrate on this day, and every day, the resilience and strength of women everywhere.

Happy hump day! What a beautiful day to be outdoors for a therapy session.🌴
Just a simple obstacle course to work on hips impacted by in-toeing and W-sitting: some visual cues on a ramp, a seated scooter board, a hand drawn balance beam, and a smiling Ms.Potato Head waiting for her right ear. 🥔

Well! I am certainly surprised it wasn't a 100 percent yes response! But for this newborn stage when they are spending a majority of their time sleeping and eating...even passive tummy time can help with the dreaded and . This baby spends all her naps and nights sleeping turned to the right so contact naps is where I can truly get her to stretch to the other side. Every minute spent off and away from the flat spot helps! And the snuggles are definitely a bonus. 💕

Looking for a creative and fun project to do with your kids this summer? Busy board play is a pediatric therapist's best friend! No need for expensive equipment. Just a few hardware pieces from around the house and it will be sure to keep those little hands occupied for at least a few minutes. ;) Latches, buckles, zippers, buttons, laces, rings, hooks, k***s, wheels...there are so many options! Look at the pure joy on these faces. 💕

This is a great depiction of why so many private PTs don't take insurance. Sadly, US healthcare promotes quantity over quality. Some of us are still trying very hard to give the care each patient deserves.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers I've had the pleasure of meeting over the past 14 years as a pediatric PT. Your strengths and love for your children are truly inspirational. I had no idea all that motherhood entailed and am still learning every day. Being a mother has changed how I view and interact with my patients, friends, and families for the better and my world grew in ways I did not expect. That saying of your heart being outside your body is the closest thing I can think of when describing how I feel.
I hope you all can have some special time for yourselves today and know that all your hard work everyday does not go unnoticed by the people you love. 🤱🏻

So thankful for 's tip! It is hard sometimes for parents to replicate parallel bars at home but these exercise bands are a great alternative! Add a little challenge by raising one "bar" while lowering the other or taking away one "bar." This is a great way to encourage standing tolerance/endurance and work on dynamic balance in toddlers who are resistant to standing/walking activities. Walk forward, backwards, sideways. Add obstacles. The possibilities are endless! Some babies just need the visual of having the rails to feel a little safer and more confident in their standing abilities. And parents can work on a little upper body strengthening too at the same time, right? 😉

Remember my old blogging days? Well now I'm just offering my advice on blogs and not writing them anymore. XD

Very happy to contribute to these parenting blogs and add my to raise happy healthy kids!

As parents, we must ensure our kids understand the importance of physical activity, and that they are getting the right movement for their age and stage.
