Here are two local opportunities for parents and caregivers of children with support needs:

1. The Nature Place (Myrick Park) is hosting a workshop on June 27th from 5-8pm called “Caring for Yourself While Caring for Your Child”.

It is designed for parents and unpaid caregivers of children with disabilities or special health care needs. The session offers practical tools to recognize and manage compassion fatigue, build resilience, and make space for real-life self-care. Dinner will be provided as well as on-site respite care and transportation support.

2. The second opportunity is the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program.

These programs offer free support in your parenting journey. Register with the QR code located on the flyer.

Happy Monday! Here is an easy art project that doubles as a “brain break” as well!

Animal Zentangles

Materials:

- outline of animal (or anything)
- black pen or marker

Instructions:

1. Choose which animal you want to use.
2. Draw any type of lines (e.g. straight, curvy, zig zag, etc.) to divide your animal up into sections. Use a straightedge if you wish!
3. Fill each section with a repeating design. (e.g. stripes, polka dots, checkers, flowers, etc.)
4. You can also outline your animal with your pen, if you’d like.

If you get stuck, here are some more design ideas: smiley faces, waves, zig zags, hearts, letters, numbers, clouds, spirals, shapes

KIDSPACE is holding a parent group for CLTSW program participants! It will be a six-week group, held once a week on Tuesday nights (6:45pm-8pm) starting April 15th. We currently have FOUR spots open and would love to have you join. This group is for any parent or caregiver of children with support needs.
