Team Alli

Alli is an adult non-verbal social butterfly with Autism, who is active within the Special Needs community & attends other events regularly.

The purpose of this page is to share those experiences with the people who love her & introduce her to others. Allison is on the ASD spectrum. She is non-verbal and does require 24/7 personal support care. She works with a variety of women of all different ages, who are all working toward a common goal - Allison's Happiness & a Better Quality of Life. Although she does always have a staff member by her side, she is incredibly independent in many ways. She helps out with daily living skills and chores and is so proud of herself when she receives praise for completing a task. We are always encouraging her to try new things. Allison loves loud music of all genres and dancing to it, but a few of her favorites are Scotty McCreary, Russel Dickerson & 5 Seconds of Summer. She enjoys being out in the community so she can meet and interact with new people. She is incredibly social and loves to "people watch". She especially loves attending LaCrosse Special Olympics/Recreation Events and Parties! It's so neat to see her with all of her peers and witness the pure joy that emits from her. It truly is a heart-melting experience, as a staff member, to be with her during those events. The possibilities are truly endless with Alli because she is typically down for any sort of new adventure. The more time you spend with her, she really becomes more of a friend or family than a client.

We are still getting to know you as it has only been a few months that you have been with us, but what I have personally witnessed is a woman who is unafraid to jump in and try anything. I don't think failing is ever a thought for you. You seem to have an endless pursuit of growth and bettering the world around you. Please don't ever change. You are a perfect addition to our team and Alli adores you. We are wishing you a year filled with joy & accomplishments!

It was a beautiful fall day for a UW LaCrosse Football Victory. I had the opportunity to watch my nephew play in the last home game with Lacrosse Special Rec. Afterwards, We took a spooky walk through the woods at the West Salem school forest and met up with friends 🏈🏆🎃🪾🍂🍁

Happy Halloween to our Facebook friends and family! Team Alli has successfully completed our annual pumpkin painting tradition over an entire week, but with a unique twist. Typically, we paint spontaneously, but this year Allison chose a themed approach. We spent some time looking at Pinterest to help generate some ideas, which Alli loved doing. The themes that responded to tge most I wrote down on sticky notes.... obviously she chose The Wizard of Oz! Makes sense considering this was one of her favorite movies from her childhood. From the three main characters, she decided to paint the Scarecrow. I love watching her level of concentration when she is fully immersed in her art projects.

We are getting Prom Excited over here!! The Special Needs Dream Team will be hosting their annual prom this weekend, which means it's time for Alli to choose a dress.... Beautiful Butterfly Project Prom, Wedding,and Formal wear generously offered a selection of dresses for her to try on. Can you guess which one Alli chose?

Nothing like a day packed with sunshine and smiles! We kicked things off watching the volleyball teams, then enjoyed a long walk, caught a baseball game, stopped by the football field and listened to the marching band, explored Apple Fest, and ended with pizza in the park 🍕. Of course, we dressed for fall… but good thing Faith had extra clothes in her car for when the weather decided to change! 😅
