Join me in the OT Schoolhouse Collaborative for these Learning Objectives
1. Learners will identify 2-3 indicators of delayed Vestibular maturation within primary school-aged children.
2. Learners will recognize how vestibular activation mediates attention, memory, learning, and communication.
3. Learners will discover and identify 2-3 ways to activate vestibular functioning universally within the classroom or within the clinic setting.
4. Learners will recognize and articulate 2-3 expectations for functional outcomes for children who have under-registration and delayed maturation of this sensory system.

We are nearing the completion of a VestibulOTherapy research project where students in several 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms engaged in universal activities that totaled of 20 minutes vestibular based learning and 20 minutes of stability work each day. We have seen gains in attention, sequencing, organization, and overall classroom performance in all of the targeted students. Stay tuned for a research paper! A preliminary paper will be coming in OT Practice this year (date to be determined).
