Homecoming 2025!

The residents had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather and the LHS Homecoming Parade. Special thanks to B’s Market for giving us a space to set up early and have a great viewing location for the action. It was a fun afternoon for all. SHOUT OUT to Pat & B’s Market for providing a fresh fruit bowl for our residents as they waited for the parade to begin. We are pleased to have many Leopard alumni among our residents and staff. We trust it was a great All School Reunion and Homecoming Weekend 2025!

Supporting our Team! GO Leopards!

Residents Joann and Lois enjoy preparing and packing the goodies for the football team. This week’s yummy dessert was sure to be a hit with the team members. This is just one small way Locust Grove Village supports our community and engages residents with the happenings at the school. Thanks ladies and keep up the winning ways Leopards!

“Your Life Was a Blessing --- Your Memory a Treasure”

This beautiful tribute wall, created by staff members Sydni & London, pays special remembrance to our treasured residents who have died since July 2024. At Locust Grove Village, we are honored and blessed to have known these beautiful elders; to have cared for them; known their family; and shared in this passage of life.

God Bless You on this Memorial Day weekend as you remember the lives well lived and share in the special memories you hold dear.

It was a grand night for the Community Event celebrating Older American’s Month! There was so much to do with good food, kid games and bounce houses. The Sherriff, Officers, and Fire Department volunteers shared their evening teaching young and old alike about their vehicles and equipment. Kids enjoyed the crafts provided by the Rush County 4-H and the kids train was a hit with Trent & Suzi Worthey. You could catch couples dancing to the music of Otter Creek along with clapping and toe tapping. The staff of LGV served delicious grilled hot dogs, yummy pasta salad and cookies to over 200 persons. At the end of the night, over $1200 was donated and will be contributed to the La Crosse Elementary Playground Project. Thank you to the playground committee for their collaboration with Locust Grove Village on this awesome night! It was a beautiful evening of fun for the kids to the elders and all the community, families in between. A big shout out to all the LGV staff for their excellent teamwork to make this night a success.

Don't forget tonight! Come out for food and fun.

Locust Grove Village celebrated employees graduating from high school or technical college programs this spring. We had a houseful of residents and staff joining together to congratulate our graduates. Michael Mauler, Quintin Elias, Chloe Schenk, and Madison Key were recognized during the dinner and shared their plans for the future. Briley Haynes was unable to be present. This special event was born out of a request by the residents during a Resident Council meeting! Congratulations to the 2025 Graduates and thank you for sharing your talents with Locust Grove Village.

Every year, Older Americans Month celebrates the contributions of older adults and reaffirms our commitment to serving them. The 2025 theme, "Flip the Script on Aging,” encourages us to challenge outdated stereotypes and embrace the many opportunities that come with aging.
