To be a midwife one must be committed. It involves long nights, hard decisions, worries and sacrifices. It also involves miracles, answered prayers, joy and blessings. I have truly learned over the past several months that I cannot be committed to midwifery unless I am committed to the one who called me, prepared me and leads me. On this International Day of the Midwife I honor the One who created families through the miracle of birth. May the Lord continue to lead me as his handmaiden.
