This has been a busy week of babies being born! Welcomed the 6th baby in 8th days - 5 boys and 1 girl. I love that I am always learning with every birth after 600+ births. I appreciate the rest in between each, the help with each birth (Angie Boisen, Tjaden Potter, Emily M), having Tjaden Potter shift from student to assist as she transitions out of student life and moves through the process to become licensed and bringing on a new student who is fitting right in. Shot out to my local La Farge ambulance crew and closest transferring hospital Vernon Memorial Healthcare, I so appreciate knowing that I have them to call on when needed and receive compassionate, collaborative care. All moms, babies and families well and stable!

Happy 2nd Birthday La Farge Birth and Wellness Center, so glad to be co-owner of this business with Angie Boisen & Jim Boisen and have this space to serve so many families these past 2 years. Love that we have expanded the services that are provided with 2 massage therapists working on days when the midwives aren’t in - Angela Roherty & Summer Shultz, have a free store almost up and running, a grassroots donor milk bank, childbirth education classes taught by Abby Abby Louise Williams and Deanna Moore. Feeling blessed to have witnessed 2 babies gently enter this world only hours apart, and watch my student Tjaden Potter grow in confidence in her skills as she is mostly taught by each mother and baby that she works with, with some guidance at times by myself, other midwives, books, podcasts, etc. I learn something new all the time from my families that I work with too - hadn’t ever seen this on a placenta before, or at least not that size! Thanks Crystal Komp for geeking out with me and learning that is is a placental cyst, which most of the times is associated with normal outcomes as was ours!
