🦠 Measles activity is increasing in Oregon. Now is the time to get ahead of it.

Make sure you’re up to date on your vaccinations. Have you had 2 doses of MMR?

If you can’t find your records, CHD Public Health or your primary care provider can help. If you’re not vaccinated or unsure, you can start now. The MMR vaccine is given in 2 doses, 28 days apart, and you’re considered fully protected 2 weeks after your second dose.

If you think you’ve been vaccinated but can’t locate your records, a simple blood test can check for immunity.

When you protect yourself, you also protect babies and people with weakened immune systems.

🏫🏀 Prepare now so you can stay in school, sports, and your daily routine without interruption.

For more information on MMR vaccine recommendations, visit the CDC page at:
https://www.cdc.gov/measles/hcp/vaccine-considerations/index.html

As a reminder, our clinic can review your vaccination records and help you get up to date with the MMR vaccine.

🦠 Measles activity is increasing in Oregon. Here’s what exposure could look like and why it matters.

Measles spreads easily through the air, even before symptoms start. Early symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, red, watery eyes, followed by a rash a few days later.

If you’re exposed, you may be asked to provide proof of immunity, such as vaccination records, a blood test, or documentation of past infection. Without this, you may need to stay home for up to 21 days after exposure.

💼🏫🏀 That can mean missing work, school, sports, and other daily activities even if you feel okay.

Knowing your status ahead of time can make a big difference.

🦠 April is STI Awareness Month

STIs are more common than many people think, and many don’t show symptoms. That means you or your partner could have an infection without knowing it.

Anyone who is sexually active can be affected, regardless of age or background. Without testing, it’s easy for STIs to spread and potentially lead to long-term health issues.

Awareness is the first step to protecting yourself and others. Knowing the facts and understanding your risk can help you make informed decisions about your health.

👩‍⚕️ CHD Public Health offers confidential STI testing and treatment. Call 541-962-8800 to schedule or visit chdinc.org/public-health for more information.
