Hearing loss is the third most common chronic health condition in the U.S., with the World Health Organization estimating that approximately 48 million Americans experience some degree of hearing loss. Last year, the initiative contributed thousands of food items to local food banks and pantries nationwide while raising awareness around the important connection between nutrition and hearing health.

In the wild, most carnivorous plants grow in sunny, acidic, nutrient-poor wetlands called bogs. Home gardeners can replicate this environment in a mini-bog planter and grow a diverse array of both carnivorous and non-carnivorous wetland plants to build a fascinating miniature habitat. In this workshop, Hills & Dales Horticulturist and Floral Designer David Brown will teach you how to make your own bog planter and to care for the interesting species it can contain. Participants will go home with an ethically-sourced carnivorous plant to start your new collection. $65 per person. Pre-registration is required by April 7. No refunds for cancellations after April 8.

Workshop fees include supplies and refreshments. Members may register for Spring workshops on January 6. Spring registration for non-members begins January 10. Choral Arts Festival 2025

The West Georgia Choral Arts Festival showcases choral
talent from across the region, bringing together singers of all ages and
backgrounds for an engaging concert experience. Elementary, middle, and high
school students, along with college students and community chorus members, will
perform a wide range of choral music styles. Students from the Troup County
School System and local private schools will participate in honor choirs. The
event concludes with a grand finale, featuring a festival choir of over 200
voices joining together in song. This concert is free and open to the public.
