With a combination of quality education, extensive experience practicing family medicine, and a patient-centered approach, Juan A. Alas, MD, has developed a reputation for providing compassionate and expert care to the families of La Habra, California at San Antonio Medical Clinic & Aesthetics. During his career, Dr. Alas has become an expert in handling all aspects of family medicine. A native of El Salvador, Dr. Alas attended the University of El Salvador in San Salvador before moving on to complete medical school at the University of El Salvador Faculty of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Alas completed his internship at the National Medical Center in San Salvador, El Salvador. He completed several residency programs, including internal medicine and family medicine and surgery at the General Hospital of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute. Dr. Alas moved to the United States in 1993. He completed the PGY-1 Residency Program for International Medical Graduates at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California, as well as family practice training at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine Fresno Medical Education Program in Fresno, California. Throughout his career in El Salvador and California, Dr. Alas has dedicated himself to providing the families of his community with quality and compassionate medical care. From setting up an inner-city clinic in San Salvador to serving the people of La Habra, Dr. Alas has the extensive experience to draw upon when serving his patients, emphasizing healthy lifestyle habits and a whole-patient approach in addition to conventional treatments. Dr. Alas speaks fluent Spanish and English. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, walking, cooking, music, and art.
