It’s Tejano Thursday. So, what’s new? Well, In the words of George Orwell’s warning: “Who controls the past, controls the future. Who controls the present, controls the past.” So it has been until recently. Since 2022, Mexican-descent Texans have once again reclaimed their status as the majority population in this great place we call Texas. So, don’t be bashful, don’t be shy. Whenever possible in discussing Texas history with others, lend voice to the memory of our Spanish Mexican ancestral founders of Texas.
If you ever wondered why most people have a discombobulated sense of Texas history, this slide shows a major reason why, i.e., John Wayne’s film, “The Alamo”.
Folks, it’s hard to believe that in the 21st century, Anglophile Texas historians and officials are still able to hoodwink the public (locals & tourists alike) into believing their Texas history Big Lie. It’s what I call, “The Davy Crockett Myth in Texas”. First, our ancestors were the ones who invited the Anglos to Texas in the first place. Second, it’s time to remind everyone why everything historically old in Texas is in Spanish.
BTW, if you happen to have a copy of John Wayne's movie, now is the time to do your part and stop the Texas history misinformation virus by throwing it in the recycling bin.

Several patients who traveled to Matamoros, Mexico, for surgeries like liposuction since January have become infected with fungal meningitis. Immediate treatment is lifesaving.

If you had epidural anesthesia in Matamoros, Mexico, at River Side Surgical Center or Clinica K-3 from January 1 to May 13, 2023, you should go to the nearest health center, urgent care, or emergency room as soon as possible to be evaluated for fungal meningitis, even if you do not currently have symptoms.
