Dear Friends of New Day Counseling Center,
With prayerful reflection and deep gratitude, we write to share that New Day Counseling Center will be concluding its services at the end of this year, with our final day of operation set for November 30, 2025.
This decision comes after much discernment by our leadership and Board of Directors. While it is difficult to close this chapter, we trust in God’s continued work through the seeds sown during our time serving this community. For 15 years, New Day has been a place of Christ-centered healing, hope, and restoration. We have been blessed to partner with churches to offer biblically based mental health services, educational workshops, and conferences. We are honored to have walked alongside so many individuals and families on their journey toward emotional and spiritual wholeness.
As we prepare to close, we want to share some important information about the transitions of our therapy team:
Karen Mejia, LMFT and Char Taty-Scheck, LMFT will be continuing their work in mental health as sole proprietors in private practice. They can be contacted directly at:
Char Taty-Scheck, LMFT 619-940-9504 or char@rootedhopecounseling.net
Karen A. Mejia, LMFT 619-807-0854 or karen@CouchConnection.org
Renee Prueitt, AMFT will remain with New Day through the end of our term, continuing to serve clients with the compassion and excellence she is known for.
We are incredibly thankful for your trust, prayers, and support throughout the years. The mission and heart of New Day have always been rooted in the belief that true healing comes from the love and grace of Christ — and we remain confident that this truth will continue to guide the work of our team as they step into new chapters.
Should you have questions or wish to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Phyllis@newdaywomenscenter.com or (619)713-1544.
